Athenians Rally on Labor Day

Activists in Athens, GA marked Labor Day 2007 by marching from the University Arch and through downtown Athens for a rally at City Hall.  The  local Celebration of Workers’ Rights  was organized by the Economic Justice Coalition, an Athens group concerned with poverty, immigrant rights, and the treatment of campus workers at the University of Georgia.

Participants in the Celebration of Workers’ Rights enjoyed speeches, music and a nourishing lunch served by the Athens chapter of Food Not Bombs during the Labor Day rally on the steps of  City Hall in Athens.
